The History of Glasgow Green Cycle Club

Glasgow Green Cycle Club (GGCC) was founded in August 2011 by Andy Dobinson and Ray Hicks

At GGCC, we feel it's important to detail the clubs main objectives and goals. With any potential member looking to join a new club, its important our club is open and transparent in what it looks for from its members as well as offering a clear and concise plan for the club over the coming years for those who join.

GGCC has taken time to make sure its constitution is fit for purpose and simple, to attract new members, and support its current members, from all over the greater Glasgow area and the West of Scotland and beyond. Our supporters have backed GGCC from day one when the idea to form a club was brought to them. Over the weeks which followed back in 2011, Andy Dobinson and Ray Hicks created the constitution which is readily available to all current and prospective members. GGCC ensures it is updated regularly to reflect the current cycling climate and requirements.

We hope you take the time to read our constitution and should you have any questions then we look forward to hearing from you. when any changes are made to the actual document following member meetings, a revised copy of the constitution will be uploaded to the site.

GGCC offers an environment for everyone from social riders up to Cat 1 racers and we have a wealth and breadth of experience now in the club and are represented at most events throughout Scotland.

Each year, GGCC continues to grow and develop.
From 11 riders in 2011 on our first ride, we have grown to a solid membership base of above 100 with club runs attracting up to 50 riders.

Our club will continue to flourish with the help from our supporters/partners and most importantly OUR MEMBERS!
