GGCC Club Run, Sunday 10th July 2016 – North 52

***NEW ROUTE / NEW ROUTE / NEW ROUTE***

‘Over the Crow We Go’

Please make sure you are aware of route details!!

Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for 8:30am sharp start.

We plan to head north this weekend – NEW ROUTE (there is a Crow / Tak route coming soon too!)

North towards Robroyston where we will split into our groups at the roundabout just passed Asda, prison run to Torrance and then from Torrance bear right towards Lennoxtown. Up AND OVER the Crow Road into Fintry then along to Killearn, down the hill onto the A81 passed the distillery into Strathblane for coffee at The Kirkhouse. From The Kirkhouse its the normal run into town via Milngavie Torrance and prison run OR if you need a short cut then straight in via Balmore Road and Possill!

The Kirkhouse has been called and coffee and tea is arranged so please bring your £2 which will be collected at the coffee stop.

We will go through some basic safety, first aid and basic bike maintenance before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what’s happening on the ride.

The group leaders will be identified prior to setting off in order that each paced group runs as smoothly as possible.

For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend) THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!

Group leaders will decide on pace of group and arrange ride format within the groups.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.

Forecast is to be cloudy with light showers that may develop as the morning goes on, 14 – 16 degrees with a 12mph wind gusting to 23mph from the SW

Groups should contain between 10 - 12 riders.

Steady is steady and usually sit between 14 – 16 mph average.
Challenge should push your ability and sits about 16 - 18 mph average.
Cheeky Challenge is slightly faster and is around 18 - 20 mph.
Race Pace is faster at above 20mph for consistent efforts

**Each group stays together FOR AT LEAST HALF OF THE SECTION and works as group and does not drop anyone so nobody is left exposed and riding solo BUT we strongly suggest on this new route that NOBODY gets dropped.

**these are the averages you should expect over the course of the ride in the above groups and there will be sections ridden faster and some slower depending on road profile and conditions

**Please remember to communicate within your group. If you get split due to junctions, traffic, roundabouts then get back together. If you get split as someone is dropping off the pace then that rider steps down a group, (or steps up if going through to hard) **If you need to ask the group to slow up, we would suggest you step down as you may be in the wrong group

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**
