GGCC Club Run, Sunday 16th October 2016 - North & 50 Miles - NEW ROUTE
**NEW ROUTE**
Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for 8:30am sharp start.
We plan to head north and over Tak ma Doon and back over The Crow - the back road I believe is re-surfaced so lets be having you!
We will head out of town towards Stepps, split into our groups and then on towards Kilsyth and then Tak ma Doon. **be careful on the descent and remember the ford**. Left and along to Crow Road and over into Lennoxtown and then onyo The Kirkhouse for our coffee stop. From there back into town via Milngavie and back in via Possil. **for those wanting a longer ride, then come in via Tarrance and the prison run.
**GROUP LEADERS will be identified and nominated at Glasgow Green and a quick brief will be discussed for the ride ahead and agreed **back to basics** At the split point before we move to paced groups, each group leader will get their respective group together and brief the group on the etiquette of the ride, what should and will happen and the format of the day so everyone in the group fully understands so everyone gets the most from the group they take part in.
We will go through some basic safety, first aid and basic bike maintenance before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what’s happening on the ride.
The group leaders will be identified prior to setting off in order that each paced group runs as smoothly as possible.
For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend)
Group leaders will decide on pace of group and arrange ride format.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.

Forecast is to be overcast but dry with a 10% chance of rain rising to 40% chance as the afternoon approaches, 8 - 10 degrees and a wind of 510ph from SW gusting to 19mph.
Groups should contain between 10 - 12 riders.
Steady is steady and usually sit between 14 – 16 mph average.
Challenge should push your ability and sits about 16 - 18 mph average.
Cheeky Challenge is slightly faster and is around 18 - 20 mph.
Race Pace is faster at above 20mph for consistent efforts **suggestion is that Race Pace now rides with Cheeky Challenge**
**Each group stays together and works as a group and does not drop anyone so nobody is left exposed and riding solo
**these are the averages you should expect over the course of the ride in the above groups and there will be sections ridden faster and some slower depending on road profile and conditions
**Please remember to communicate within your group. If you get split due to junctions, traffic, roundabouts then get back together. If you get split as someone is dropping off the pace then that rider steps down a group, (or steps up if going through to hard) **If you need to ask the group to slow up, we would suggest you step down as you may be in the wrong group
**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**
