Ray Hicks steps down as GGCC Chairman

18 Sep 2017

Over the past 6 years, GGCC has given me so much. We have created a brilliant cycle club, I have made some great friends and I have been part of a fantastic group who all want to share their love of cycling and keeping fit.

In recent times, my priorities in life have changed and the time I’ve had to dedicate to the club has reduced though Andy Dobinson has worked really hard to ensure the club continued to grow and put its members at the forefront. Ultimately, GGCC deserves more from me than I have been able to give and with this, I want to let you all know that I have decided to step down as the Chairman of the club. The club deserves someone who can dedicate their time to the club runs and be there for the members.

The overall running of the GGCC will be Andy’s responsibility and I would like to thank him and all the other members who have supported the club over the years to make it what it is.

I hope that you all understand that I haven’t taken this decision lightly though I believe this is the right time to step down.

Over the coming week or so, Andy will update you all as to changes that will be made to make sure GGCC continues to thrive.

Be safe and have fun.

Ray.
