GGCC Club Run, Sunday 22nd September 2019 - Northeast & 58 Miles

Last bit of summer weather this weekend?......……..Its time for FRANKENTAK!!!

A longish route that will be rewarded with a coffee stop at the Boathouse

Please meet as normal at the Green for an 8.30 sharp start and we will leave from there OR the 2nd pick up point is at Kaldis on Edinburgh Road and the leaving time from there is 9am AT THE LATEST.

Group Leaders will take the lead this week in terms of ride set up, can everyone please work together on behalf of each group so that everyone is happy with the format and direction.

With it being a newish route all groups work really tight and stick together, please remember tight rotations and tight lines on the road.

We will be heading out of town towards Kaldis and then pick up the start of the Frankie Weaver route, head towards Glenboig and then onto Slammannan, Glen Village and then Bonnybridge, then onto Denny. From there head towards Tak ma Doon and up and over into Kilsyth. Into Moodiesburn and then back into town.

There is also the option to cut out the Tak climb and head straight back into Kilsyth from Denny.

The coffee stop is will be the Boathouse in Kilsyth, please bring money for coffee (Breakfast Hoagie recommended!!)

**THIS ROUTE HAS BEEN RIDEN AND TESTED AND IT IS APPROPRIATE FOR D ROTATIONS AND GROUP RIDING**

We will go through some basic safety tips and group riding etiquette before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what happens on the ride.

The group leaders will be identified prior to setting off in order that each paced group runs as smoothly as possible.

For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend)

Group leaders will decide on pace of group and arrange ride format.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.

Route details - PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND

https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/25947566

Forecast is to be sunny with the chance of showers, with temperatures up around 14-19 degrees. Wind of 8 mph from ENE gusting to 18mph.

Groups should contain between 10 - 12 riders.

All groups stay together and work together!!......this is a training ride not a race!! Nobody gets dropped and any one wanting a dig over the climbs please regroup at the top.

Steady is steady and usually sit between 14 – 16 mph average.

Challenge should push your ability and sits about 16 - 18 mph average.

Cheeky Challenge is slightly faster and is around 18 - 20 mph.

**Each group stays together and works as a group and does not drop anyone so nobody is left exposed and riding solo

**these are the averages you should expect over the course of the ride in the above groups and there will be sections ridden faster and some slower depending on road profile and conditions

**Please remember to communicate within your group. If you get split due to junctions, traffic, roundabouts then get back together. If you get split as someone is dropping off the pace then that rider steps down a group, (or steps up if going through to hard) **If you need to ask the group to slow up, we would suggest you step down as you may be in the wrong group

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**
