We just hosted one of the most successful TT's of the year today judging by feedback!...….and it could not of happened without the awesome support of you lot!
At the start of the year GGCC decided to host an open TT which is and was brand new territory for us!
Today we absolutely pulled it off! #itswhatwedo
To get to today there has been a mountain of work to make sure an event like this goes as expected and goes off to the standard we set ourselves as we have a reputation in the cycling community for just 'doing stuff right and doing stuff better!' Apparently nobody has experienced an event that was marshalled so well with so much encouragement and Geoff from CTT actually commented too!! Awesome
We had 111 riders on the entry sheet today on what was a great day for fast times and the day didn't dissappoint with some phenomenal times so first of all CHAPEAU to all the riders who entered, gave it their all and put in a time today! Your support is greatly appreciated and to get such a big field on our first TT was just brilliant.
My first thanks and massive shout out goes to my Wing Man Doog!
He took this and just got it done! Doog not only helped tirelessly behind the scenes with me and arranged timekeepers, prizes, timers on the day, music and much, much more......he rode the event too putting in a sub 1 hour time! Without Doogs help the event wouldn't have gone to plan!
As always my thankyou list is huge, but without the following folk, the events that we have just wouldn't run!......
'The Broons' as always supporting from start to finish! Course marking by John Brown at 6am today. Wee Rae Broon and Carole Morley for the MOUNTAIN of food and drink that actually fed some of the crowds on Glasgow afterwards watching the women's road race!!
Wee Dobbo, Nicola Brown and Zosia Martin for sign on duties.
Kieron Redmond for the artwork that was presented to the winning seniors and they were well amazed!!
Keith Morley for official 1st Aid duties after being on call last night! Paul Keoghan form our sister club RACC, who brought encouragement and a podium! Mike Bishop for his yet again awesome photos......you might mot have seen him......but he defo saw you
;-)
The HUGE marshall crew who gave up their time to ensure the safety of the riders was on point, so thanks to Mark Gallagher, Chris Ditchfield, John Haughey, Douglas McKendrick, Andrew McIntyre, David Dymock, Ross Dymock, Alexandra Michnowicz, Jim Mortimer, Paul Mullan, Robert Hamilton, David Deady, Kenny Blair, Alan Curivan, Ross Burgess, Natalie Wheatley, Steve Hutton, Gavin Morton, David McGill, Craig Ross, Dave Rodgers, Richard Warnock, Ray Hicks and Martin Godfrey
Lastly a call out to Geoff and Alison from CTT who took care of official timing along with their crew, Bishopton Community Centre, Tunnocks (Ill be on caramel wafers for tea for weeks!), Police Scotland and Transerv Scotland.
GGCC......I salute you!
