GGCC Club Ride details for Sunday 6th September 2020 - North 48 miles - Anti clockwise

THE MIGHTY GGCC GRAND RETURN / DEPART!

WE ARE BACK……with lots of rules, regulations and stipulations…. but……. we are back!!! 😉

After a long time away, GGCC returns this Sunday for our first ride back since March 2020 and we will head north for a social and socially distanced ride to get us all back together and riding again so no paced groups for this week….just nice easy miles with friends who you may not have seen for quite some time!

Its SUPER IMPORTANT that you have both read the previous posts outlining the guidelines from earlier in the week and also REGISTERED to ride tomorrow please. Link below

Please meet at the arch and be ready for an 8.30 rollout.

This may be delayed by 5 – 10 minutes as there will be a thorough briefing as you can imagine prior to setting off.

It’s a social ride tomorrow so we will get into groups and suggest that these groups stay together for the ride and coffee stop so you create a ‘riding bubble’ for the morning. This is new territory for us all so bear with us as we might not get everything right, but we will do our best.

All we ask is that you be aware of what you do and who you are around tomorrow to negate as much risk as possible.

We will head north and ride out by Kilsyth then along the valley and for those that want to do Crow Road then please do BUT BE AWARE of Tour of the Campsies as their first rider is off at 10.10 and will be racing until 12. We will then head to Café Sonas where Lorna will look after us and then back into Glasgow via Strathblane. Please do all you can and comply with the regulations Lorna has at the Café.

Please make sure you are familiar with the route before you ride:

Road captains and ride leaders will assist with the running of the day so please do work with them and as a club which we always do so tanks in advance for that.

Can I stress again the below –

  1. Club rides will only be open to fully paid up members – no new members may join at present
  2. Club rides must be booked in advance – details to follow and booking system being discussed and agreed so it’s as simple as possible
  3. NHS Test & Protect requires that for each 'Club Ride' participants must provide their full name and a contact telephone number at the time of booking – as above and system TBC
  4. The requirement for physical distancing is suspended for all activity, and for all ages, from 24 August 2020 for the duration of the activity. Physical distancing of 2 meters should be maintained before and after activity.
  5. Road Captains and Group Leaders can lead adult groups of no more 30, from an unlimited number of households.
  6. Be prepared - consider what tools and spares you need to carry with you so that you are self-sufficient, including maintaining good personal hygiene at all times.
  7. Participants are required to carry a face covering at all times.

Can I also stress the importance of the following –

If you don’t feel safe, don’t attend. Don’t put yourself in a situation you are not comfortable with. I understand that some may be more cautious than others

2. If you are in any way ill or have any symptoms at all….DO NOT attend a club ride

3. If you have been in a public situation that you feel there was or may have been a risk with regards to Covid-19, please do not attend and wait until the next club ride

4. Be respectful (as you always are), be thoughtful and mindful of your actions during your time with your fellow members.

It does seem very ‘dictatorial’ and admin heavy but it’s a new world and until we move on its just what is required so it’s a small ask to get us all back out riding in a safe, fun and supportive environment.

See you all Sunday.
