The ‘Spring Time Time Trial’ - Sunday 24th April 2022

GGCC Club Confined Event – The Craig Dymock Memorial Time Trial in association with GGCC

This weekend, GGCC will hosts its first Time Trial Event of 2022, The Craig Dymock Memorial Time Trial

This is the 2nd club confined event of 2022 in our Club Championship competition

£5 entry fee and please have correct monies if possible, thanks

We will be putting together the start sheet at sign on so please provide name and DOB to Andy once signed on with Wee Dobbo. If you want a specific time then please advise at sign on.

As a mark of respect, we will be starting at 10:02 and allocating 10:01 to Craig in his memory.

We plan to head out towards the south side of Glasgow to get to the meeting point of The Fairweather Hall, Barrhead Road, Newton Mearns, G77 6BB, this part of the ride is approximately 9 miles.

**The Hall is at the last junction before you turn left up towards the Ivy so please take the usual route as if you are heading on a south side ride from the Green.

Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for 8:30am.

We will go through some basic safety, group riding etiquette and group riding technique, first aid and basic bike maintenance before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what’s happening on the ride.

The group leaders will be identified prior to setting off in order that each group runs as smoothly as possible on the way to the A77.

For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend)

Forecast (at the moment) is to be 11 - 13 degrees, 15mph wind from the NE with only a 10% chance of rain.

Please remember to bring your £5 which will be your entry fee for the day. Your entry fee includes your race entry, associated insurances for the event as well as refreshments after the event.

For those of you who will be heading straight to the event and not to the green, there are plenty of car parking spaces and areas to warm up.

Sign on for the event will be from 9:00 am to 9:45 and will be held in the hall of Fairweather Hall. PLEASE BE THERE IN PLENTY OF TIME

A full breakdown of the prize categories is on the events page.

An event briefing will be held in the main hall of Fairweather Hall 9.45. We ask that every rider is present for the briefing. This is an important point of the morning as this will inform you of all aspects of the start, course, conditions, finish area and post event prize giving.

The first rider will be set off at 10:02 or IF we run over then 10.16. The distance from the sign on area to the start line is two (2) mile exactly. Please allow up to 15 mins to get to the start time as you will not be able to alter your time and may need to be allocated a later start time.

We would encourage all the riders to stay for the full event and support the riders and prize winners. Sunday is not a day for getting the miles in, its about getting involved and supporting your club and fellow members.

The Fairweather Hall will be open from 9:00 and will changing facilities and a kitchen with facilities. From approximately 10.45 am, refreshments and snacks will be available.

We are expecting the event to finish for around 12.00 - 12:30.

We look forward to seeing you all on the morning of the event.

From all the team @ GGCC

Due to other groups using the main hall, we have been given a smaller room with a very limited capacity so please be COVID AWARE at sign on.

We may set up a table outside for you to gather as we will have refreshments after the event with a small selection of food too (please feel free to donate something if you wish)
