Sunday 14th October GGCC Club Run - South to A77 and Eaglesham REVERSE - 45 miles minimum
This Sunday we will head south towards the A77 and Eaglesham Moor and try an old favorite in reverse. Head out of town, hit the A77 for some tidy chain-gang and rotations, down to Fenwick and then to Whitelees Windfarm for coffee and then back into town via Burnside.
Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for a 8:30am sharp start and remember your money for the coffee stop. We will go through some basic safety tips and group riding etiquette before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly whats happening on the ride.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.
Route details
Weather is to be around 6 - 8 degrees, dry but overcast with a 5mph wind from NNE.
We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE and RACE PACE depending on the number of members on the ride.
Everyone will take the same route so if you choose the wrong group or get dropped from Challenge or Race Pace there will always be a group coming up that you can join.
There may be a chance for extra miles for all on the A77 but we will decide on Sunday
An idea of the pace each group should ride @ are -
Steady IS steady at about 14mph
Challenge should stretch you at around 18mph - 20mph
Race Pace is exactly that - FAST and usually up at high 20's / low 30's
Pick you group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.
**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean **
See you all on Sunday from all the team @ GGCC
