25 Jan 2013

GGCC Club Ride - Sunday 27th January - North towards Crow Road and coffee at Strathblane - 44 miles

This Sunday we will head north and head towards Kirkintilloch then on towards Crow Road and then coffee at Strathblane before heading back to town via Milngavie.

Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for a 8:30am sharp start and remember your £2 for the coffee stop.
We will go through some basic safety tips, group riding rules and etiquette and first aid before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly whats happening on the ride.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.

Weather is forecast to be wet with a 20% chance or rain and around 2 degrees.
Heavy rain overnight but starting to ease by 9am

We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE and possibly RACE PACE but remember this is the time for good solid steady miles and not ripping it. We will split the groups depending on the number of members on the ride and demand.

Everyone will take the same route so if you choose the wrong group or get dropped from Challenge, there will always be a group coming up that you can join.

An idea of the pace each group should ride @ are -
Steady IS steady at about 14
Challenge should stretch you at around 16mph - 18mph
Race Pace will be high 20mph+ consistently

Pick you group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.

**Please check your bikes over prior to the run and make sure brake pads, tyres, tubes are all in good working order. If not then Dales can look after you!
**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**

See you all Sunday.
