GGCC Club Ride details for Sunday 24th March - South - 'Eaglesham and A77 chaingang' - 45 miles

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE WILL BE OUR DEFAULT WINTER ROUTE TO DUMBARTON AND BACK IF WE FEEL THE ORIGINAL ROUTE IS NOT SUITABLE DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS

**PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON FACEBOOK/WEBSITE AND TWITTER FOR RIDE UPDATES!

This Sunday we plan to head south over Eaglesham Moor with a coffee stop at the Windfarm and then onto the A77 for some tidy chaingang riding. We may include the Fenwick loop for the race pace group. We will then head back into town via Clarkston and Carmunnock.
Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for a 8:30am sharp start. As we are stopping at the Windfarm please bring enough money for your own coffee and cakes.

We will go through some basic safety, group riding etiquette and group riding technique, first aid and basic bike maintenance before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what’s happening on the ride.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.

Weather is to be VERY COLD with a chance of ice. Temps feeling like -6 to -4 so wrap up well. There will be a challenging wind too

We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE and potentially RACE pace if the numbers and weather allow it.

Everyone will take the same route so if you choose the wrong group or get dropped from Challenge, there will always be a group coming up that you can join.

An idea of the pace each group should ride @ are -

Steady IS steady at about 14 -16mph
Challenge should stretch you at around 18mph - 20mph
Race Pace is 20+mph

Pick you group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone. **WE MAY SPLIT INTO 2 OR 3 STEADY GROUPS AND 2 CHALLENGE GROUPS DEPENDING ON NUMBERS**

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**

See you all Sunday.
