GGCC Club Ride details for Sunday 19th May - North – Strathblane, Crow Road, Kilsyth, Stepps - 50 miles

This Sunday we plan to head north towards Strathblane, Crow Road and then we will stop for coffee at The Boathouse in Kilsyth before heading back into town via Stepps.

Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for a 8:30am sharp start. We will collect £2.00 for the coffees etc before setting off and will call the order in to enable the staff at the Boathouse to have it ready for us arriving. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU PUT YOUR MONEY IN THE CASH BAG.

We will go through some basic safety, group riding etiquette and group riding technique, first aid and basic bike maintenance before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what’s happening on the ride.

For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend)

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.

Weather is to be around 10 degrees with a very slight chance of a shower, with 6 mph easterly winds. The route has been planned to have a tailwind at the end of the route.

We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE and RACE pace.

Everyone will take the same route so if you choose the wrong group or get dropped from the Race or Challenge groups, there will always be a group coming up that you can join.

An idea of the pace each group should ride @ are -

Steady IS steady at about 14 -16mph
Challenge should stretch you at around 18mph - 20mph
Race Pace is 20+mph

Pick you group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**

See you all Sunday.

From all the team @ GGCC
