GGCC Club Run - Wednesday 29th May – Strathaven Route with Greenlees Road Climb. 29.5 Miles
We will head up Greenlees Road first, onto to East Kilbride, Strathaven and descend Sydes Brae to then come back through Blantyre and Cambuslang
Meet at 6.45pm for a 7pm sharp start at the McDonalds at the end of London Road near the junction of the M74.
The Group Leaders will go through some basic safety tips and group riding etiquette before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what happens on the ride.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO WEDNESDAYS RIDE.
Route Details
Weather is forecast to be dry and 14 degrees with 6 mph south westerly winds.
We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE and RACE PACE at defined and agreed points along the route.
Steady is steady and usually sit between 14 – 16 mph average.
Challenge should push your ability and sits about 16-18mph average.
Race Pace is faster and is around 20mph+.
Please pick your group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.
**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained **
