GGCC Club Ride details for Sunday 9th February - North Route Clockwise - North 49 miles

This week we will head North towards Torrance, Milngavie and Strathblane, before heading to Crow Road and then onto Kilsyth for coffee at The Boathouse. We will then head back into town via Stepps.

Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for an 8:30am start.

Can you all bring along a your £2 which we will collect prior to setting off for your coffee or tea. If we can have a volunteer to collect the coffee money that would be great.

Could the ride leaders please all chip in where we can and make sure the run goes as smoothly as possible?

The group leaders should gather their respective groups together before we set off from the green to run through what pace, rotations etc they will be doing?
If any new riders come along, can folk buddy up where possible?

We will go through some basic safety, group riding etiquette and group riding technique, first aid and basic bike maintenance before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what’s happening on the ride.

For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend)

Weather is to be around 1 to 2 degrees, cloudy with winds arounf 15mph with gusts up to 25mph from the SW.

We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE, CHEEKY CHALLENGE and RACE PACE.

Everyone can take the same route so if you choose the wrong group or get dropped from the faster groups, there will always be a group coming up that you can join.

An idea of the pace each group should ride @ are -

Steady IS steady at about 14 -16mph
Challenge should stretch you at around 16mph - 18mph
Cheeky Challenge is 18 - 20 mph
Race Pace is 20mph+

Pick you group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**

See you all Sunday.

From all the team @ GGCC
