We plan to head south over Eaglesham Moor and down to Fenwick as we also plan to incorporate a new route in the coming weeks. This option on Sunday will let us try out the Fenwick hotel.
The plan is to use the Fenwick Hotel for our coffee stop this week. They have agreed to let GGCC use one of their function rooms, supply us with teas, coffees, toast and shortbread for £2 per head. RESULT!!
The format for the run will differ slightly. We will head up towards East Kilbride, along Stewartfield, We will then split into paced groups and head over the moor and onto the A77 all the way to the Fenwick Hotel.
We would like the paced groups to regroup at the top of the moor and then head off (still within the same paced groups) down the A77 to Fenwick.
After the coffee stop we will set of the steady group first, then challenge then Race Pace in an APR style format with everyone meeting up again at the Ivy India (formerly the Malletsheugh Inn)
Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for 8:30am.
We will go through some basic safety, group riding etiquette and group riding technique, first aid and basic bike maintenance before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what’s happening on the ride.
Please remember to bring your £2 for our coffee stop. We will collect this before we set off.
The group leaders will be identified prior to setting off in order that each paced group runs as smoothly as possible.
For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend)

Forecast is to be 10 degress, 10mph wind from the North East with a chances of rain.
We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE, CHEEKY CHALLENGE & RACE PACE
Everyone will take the same route so if you choose the wrong group or get dropped from the Cheeky Challenge or Challenge groups, there will always be a group coming up that you can join.
An idea of the pace each group should ride @ are -
Steady IS steady at about 14 -16mph
Challenge should stretch you at around 16mph - 18mph
Cheeky Challenge is around 18mph - 20mph
Race Pace is 20 mph +
Pick you group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.
**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**
