GGCC Club Run, Wednesday 21st May 2014 - GGCC APR.
Wednesday sees the first APR of the season.
Meet at 6.45pm for a 7pm start at the McDonalds at the end of London Road near the junction of the M74.
We will go through some basic safety tips and group riding etiquette before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what happens on the ride.
If you have been given a first aid pack or have your own, can you bring this with you on club runs?
We would advise that you bring lights for your bike as it will be getting dark at the end of run.
We will head through Cambuslang, up Greenlees Road, through East Kilbride taking a right at the Torrance roundabout where we will regroup after taking a left at the next roundabout - arriving at around 7.40.
The route to the Torrance roundabout is the same as the start of last week's run as shown here:
Route Details. http://connect.garmin.com/course/3526171

At this point we will make the final announcement on the APR groups which will take account of any changes on the day.
From here we will proceed along the APR route to the start point on Millwell Rd. This serves two purposes:
1. To familiarise riders with the new part of the course (roadworks mean Greenhills Rd is unavailable). Please take particular care at the right turn from Hurlawcrook Rd to Langlands Rd and further on at the sharp, blind left hand bend on Langlands Rd.
2. To drop the marshals off en route.

The plan is to start as close to 8pm as possible.
Group 1 (Steady) will be off first (00:00) followed by group 2 (Challenge) at 01:30. Group 3 (Cheeky Challenge) will set off at 03:30 and finally group 4 (Scratch) will have a handicap of 04:30 mins.
Please familiarise yourself with your group (see attached), however I will call everyone's name at the start.
Please address all complaints to Mr Hugh Garse.

The APR will be 2 laps of the following 7 mile circuit:

Estimated race finish time is around 2045. We will announce the results as quickly as possible and then proceed in our groups back down the Strathaven Rd, reversing our route from the Torrance roundabout back through East Kilbride.

Weather is to be around 14 degrees, sunny with a slight South Westerly breeze of 7mph.
**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained **
