GGCC Club Ride details - Wednesday 4th June 2014
GGCC's STRATHAVEN STORMER - clockwise 30 miles

http://connect.garmin.com/course/6336377

The ride will head out of Cambuslang with Sydes Brae as the warm up. Along Muttonhall Road and then onto Strathaven. From there we will head back via Chapelton into East Kilbride, down the Kingsway into Cambuslang and then back to the McDonalds.

Meet at 6.45pm for a 7pm start at the McDonalds at the end of London Road near the junction of the M74.

We will go through some basic safety tips and group riding etiquette before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what happens on the ride.

PLEASE REMEMBER - If you have been given a first aid pack or have your own, can you bring this with you on club runs.

ALSO - if we can ask the group leaders to volunteer to lead groups.

Weather is to be 13 degrees, cloudy with chances of light rain showers and a North Westerly wind of 10mph .

We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE, CHEEKY CHALLENGE and RACE PACE at defined and agreed points along the route, and we will aim to minimize the stops.

Groups should contain between 8 and 10 riders.
Steady is steady and usually sit between 14 – 16 mph average.
Challenge should push your ability and sits about 18 mph average.
Cheeky Challenge is slightly faster and is around 20 mph.
Race Pace should be regularly over 20+mph

Please pick your group carefully and remember that all groups work together to promote group riding but apart from steady the 3 drops and you are out rule applies for fairness to the group.

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained **
