GGCC Club Run - Commonwealth Road Race Ride - Sunday 3rd August

With it being the day of the Commonwealth Road Race and the day of our event on Montrose Street we are looking to have a shorter Club Ride as per attached route with no stops.

Can we ask for a quick show of hands to see how many people want to do a club ride on sunday so we can decide on whats best.

The weather is to be rain with a westerly 10 mph wind.

ROUTE DETAILS -

http://connect.garmin.com/course/7464348

Please let us know who wants to ride as per normal (although shortened) asap.

IF demand dictates a club ride then m
eet for an 8.30am start as close to The McLennan Arch as possible.

We will go through some basic safety tips and group riding etiquette before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what happens on the ride.
If you have been given a first aid pack or have your own, can you bring this with you on club runs?

We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE, CHEEKY CHALLENGE and RACE PACE at defined and agreed points along the route, and we will aim to minimize the stops.

Groups should contain between 8 and 10 riders.
Steady is steady and usually sit between 14 – 16 mph average.
Challenge should push your ability and sits about 18 mph average.
Cheeky Challenge is slightly faster and is around 20 mph.
Race Pace should be regularly over 20+mph

Please pick your group carefully and remember that all groups work together to promote group riding. Steady Group is the only group which will stay together and not drop a rider.

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained **
