SOUTH ROUTE (the new route) for this Sundays Run
GGCC Club Run, Sunday 17th August 2014, South – 48 Miles
Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for 8:30am.
We plan to head south this weekend taking in the new route which will use a similar start to the one we use when we are heading out of town for our Time Trial.
Everyone will regroup at the Ivy India and then the paced groups will set off using the Stewarton Road. The race pace and cheeky Challenge Groups will take a left at Kilmaurs (as per the route) the challenge and steady groups will turn left at the traffic lights at Stewarton. All groups will meet at the Fenwick Hotel.
The plan is to use the Fenwick Hotel for our coffee stop this week. They have agreed to let GGCC use one of their function rooms, supply us with teas and coffees and shortbread for £2 per head. We will collect the £2 from everyone at the hotel.
After the coffee stop we will set of the steady group first, then challenge then Race Pace who will all travel back up the A77 towards Glasgow though the new element is to ride over the Eaglesham moor using the B764 back towards East Kilbride. Each group will make their own way back to Glasgow Green.
We will go through some basic safety, group riding etiquette and group riding technique, first aid and basic bike maintenance before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what’s happening on the ride.
The group leaders will be identified prior to setting off in order that each paced group runs as smoothly as possible.
For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend)
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.
