GGCC Club Run, Sunday 22nd March 2015, North Clockwise - 48 Miles
20 Mar 2015
GGCC Club Run, Sunday 22nd March 2015, North Clockwise - 48 Miles
Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for 8:30am start.
We plan to head north this weekend towards Torrance, then Milngavie, Strathblane, The Crow Road and then onto Kilsyth to The Boathouse for coffee. We will then head back into town via Stepps.
Please bring your £2 for coffee which will be collected at the coffee stop just before you get your drink.
We will head out of town in groups of 10 before splitting into our paced groups at the usual roundabout just passed the Asda.
We will go through some basic safety, group riding etiquette and group riding technique, first aid and basic bike maintenance before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what’s happening on the ride.
The group leaders will be identified prior to setting off in order that each paced group runs as smoothly as possible and everyone knows who the group leader in that specific group actually is.
For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend)
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.
https://connect.garmin.com/course/3622115
Forecast is to be dry but cloudy and between 5 and 8 degrees, an 11mph SW wind gusting to 23mph.
We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE, CHEEKY CHALLENGE & RACE PACE
An idea of the pace each group should ride @ are -
Steady IS steady at about 14 -16mph
Challenge should stretch you at around 16mph - 18mph
Cheeky Challenge is around 18mph - 20mph
Race Pace is 20 mph +
Please remember that each group will ride slower and faster at certain points during the ride so these are the overall average you should achieve.
**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**
