22 May 2022

Sunday 22nd May 2022 - Northeast & 48 Miles

**Frankie Weaver Pasta Run**

A very welcome return to Kaldis and the "Frankie Weaver" run out towards Slamannan.

These are always great rides, good route & fantastic hospitality from Jeff at Kaldis, lets make sure we get a good turn-out.

Standard club format of Steady, Challenge, Cheeky Challenge & Race paced groups, . Please make sure that all groups work really tight and stick together, please remember tight rotations and tight lines on the road.

Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for 8:30am sharp start.

We will head towards Kaldis and take the quickest route we can along Edinburgh Road so that we are at Kaldis for a 9am where Jeff will have some tea & coffee out for us, those meeting up there can use the restaurant until the rest of the groups get there.

We'll try to get the paced groups away for 9.30 which should have us back at Kaldi's for 11.30.

Jeff has again laid on a buffet lunch with coffees and teas for only £4 per head and we all know what a spread Jeff puts on for us!

Also; There Is safe storage for all bikes behind the restaurant! But may be advisable to bring a chain!

PLEASE can you look at the route and make sure you are happy with it but as per above we have a number of GGCC'ers who know this route inside out and back to front so you wont get lost!

We will go through some basic safety tips and group riding etiquette before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what happens on the ride.

The group leaders will be identified prior to setting off in order that each paced group runs as smoothly as possible.

For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend)

Group leaders will decide on pace of group and arrange ride format.

After our food at Kaldis then each group will make their own way back to Glasgow Green.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.

Route details - PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND

https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/16203084

Forecast is to be Sunshine & showers, 14-15 degrees. Wind of 12mph from SW, gusting to 25mph

Groups should contain between 10 - 12 riders.

All groups stay together and work together!!......this is a training ride not a race!! Nobody gets dropped and any one wanting a dig over the climbs please regroup at the top.

Steady is steady and usually sit between 14 – 16 mph average.

Challenge should push your ability and sits about 16 - 18 mph average.

Cheeky Challenge is slightly faster and is around 18 - 20 mph.

Race Pace (20 mph & above)

**Each group stays together and works as a group and does not drop anyone so nobody is left exposed and riding solo

**these are the averages you should expect over the course of the ride in the above groups and there will be sections ridden faster and some slower depending on road profile and conditions

**Please remember to communicate within your group. If you get split due to junctions, traffic, roundabouts then get back together. If you get split as someone is dropping off the pace then that rider steps down a group, (or steps up if going through to hard) **If you need to ask the group to slow up, we would suggest you step down as you may be in the wrong group

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**
