GGCC Club Run + 2-up TT. Sunday 28th October 2018

26 Oct 2018

GGCC Club Run Incorporating 2-up Time Trial - Sunday 28th October 2018 - South & 48 Miles (60 inc. TT)

'O'er The Moor'

Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for 8:30am sharp start.

Bit of a unique one this week, as we will be riding out of the green and heading up to the Malletsheugh (Ivy / Indian Platform) which will serve as the sign-on for the 2-Up TT. Those competing will then make their way to the start line at their allocated time (located at A77 golf club entrance) and compete in the standard GGCC 10 mile TT route. After the event there will be a quick prize-giving, and then we will split into pace groups and re-commence the club run, heading south over to Stewarton, Fenwick**, A77, Eaglesham Moor, and back to town via E.K. and Rutherglen

THERE IS NO OFFICIAL STOP AT WINDFARM ON RETURN INTO TOWN. IF ANY GROUP DECIDES TO STOP, PLEASE BRING SUFFICIENT MONEY TO BUY YOUR OWN COFFEE / TEA. ITS NOT AN OFFICIAL / ARRANGED STOP SO THERE IS NO £2 DEAL

We will go through some basic safety, first aid and basic bike maintenance before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what’s happening on the ride.

The group leaders will be identified prior to setting off in order that each paced group runs as smoothly as possible.

For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend)

RIDE ETIQUETTE– We will ride out of town in groups as normal and split into paced groups at the Malletsheugh. From there, each group MUST stay together and work as a group. At the Malletsheugh we will start and ride at the advertised speeds of each paced group. If there is any split in the group (on Climbs etc) it is the responsibility of EVERYONE, not just the group leader, to get things back together at the top.

Ride Captains and Group leaders will decide on pace of group and arrange ride format.

**All the groups will take a left at the traffic lights at Stewarton, unless the group decides collectively to do the Kilmaurs loop.

**Each group can decide amongst themselves what route they take.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.

Steady and Challenge Route http://connect.garmin.com/course/7790176

Cheeky Challenge http://connect.garmin.com/course/5872812

Forecast is to be dry but chilly, with less than 5% chance of rain, with temperatures up around 1-5 degrees, and a wind of 3mph from SSE gusting to 7mph.

Groups should contain between 10 - 12 riders.

All groups stay together and work together!!......this is a training ride not a race!! (Except for the TT bit which IS A RACE!!)

Steady is steady and usually sit between 14 – 16 mph average.

Challenge should push your ability and sits about 16 - 18 mph average.

Cheeky Challenge is slightly faster and is around 18 - 20 mph.

**Each group stays together and works as a group and does not drop anyone so nobody is left exposed and riding solo

**these are the averages you should expect over the course of the ride in the above groups and there will be sections ridden faster and some slower depending on road profile and conditions

**Please remember to communicate within your group. If you get split due to junctions, traffic, roundabouts then get back together. If you get split as someone is dropping off the pace then that rider steps down a group, (or steps up if going through to hard) **If you need to ask the group to slow up, we would suggest you step down as you may be in the wrong group

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**
