Glasgow Green Cycle Club News story

GGCC has its largest Club Run to date

05 Nov 2012

And the numbers keep on growing!!

On the 5th November 2012, Glasgow Green Cycle Club (GGCC) had its biggest turn out to date with 37 riders making it along for our regular Sunday Club Run from Glasgow Green.

It was great to see so many faces as well as a few new members.

Over the past number of months GGCC has seen its rides attracting all levels of cyclists. With the popularity of the sport growing, clubs like ours are certainly seeing the benefit of more of our established riders as well as newcomers taking to the roads with the club.

The route for this ride was one that took the club over the Eaglesham Moor. Everyone had the chance to stop in at the Whitelee Wind Farm Cafe for a well deserved hot drink. At this rate we may need to ask the Cafe to buy in some more chairs.

After the riders were just getting warm again, it was time to set off for our chaingang sessions on the A77. We had three groups all working at differing paces to make sure each group stayed together and got the most out of the quicker section of the club run.

Everyone made it back to Glasgow Green with smile and a few of the members finished of the day with a drink at St Andrews in the Square.

Lets hope there are many more club runs like this and our membership continues to grow.

We look forward to seeing you all at the next club run.

From all the team @ GGCC
