GGCC SANTA SUNDAY CLUB RUN, 23rd December 2012

21 Dec 2012

The GGCC SANTA SUNDAY CLUB RUN 23rd December  - North to Torrance, Strathblane, Kilsyth and back into Glasgow- 45 miles

This Sunday we will head north and head towards Torrance then over to Kilsyth for a coffee stop at the Boathouse

Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for a 8:30am sharp start and remember your £2 for the coffee stop.

Anyone wearing a Santa hat (on top of your cycle helmet of course) will benefit from a cake at the coffee stop!

We will go through some basic safety tips, group riding etiquette and first aid before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly whats happening on the ride.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.

SANTA CLUB RUN ROUTE

Weather is to be around 8 degrees, overcast but with some rain.  southerly wind about 20mph

We will split into STEADY and CHALLENGE for this ride. No RACE PACE this week as we should be taking it easy in the run up to Christmans. We will split the groups depending on the number of members on the ride and demand.

Everyone will take the same route so if you choose the wrong group or get dropped from Challenge, there will always be a group coming up that you can join.

An idea of the pace each group should ride @ are -

Steady IS steady at about 14 -16mph
Challenge should stretch you at around 18mph - 20mph

Pick you group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**

See you all Sunday.

From all the team @ GGCC
