GGCC Club Run - Wednesday 14th August

12 Aug 2013

GGCC Club Run - Wednesday 14th August – Strathaven Route with Greenlees Road climb to start.

We will head through Cambuslang, up Greenlees Road to East Kilbride and then onto Strathaven before returning along Mutton Hall Road and then down Sydes Brae and back into Cambuslang.

We would advise that you bring lights for your bike as its starting to get dark at the end of run.

Meet at 6.45pm for a 7pm sharp start at the McDonalds at the end of London Road near the junction of the M74.

We will go through some basic safety tips and group riding etiquette before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what happens on the ride.

Can we have a show of hands from the nominated ride leaders to look after groups tomorrow please?

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO WEDNESDAYS RIDE.

Weather is to be cloudy with a chance of light rain, 16 degree with an 8 - 10 mph south westerly wind.

We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE and RACE PACE at defined and agreed points along the route.

Steady is steady and sit between 14 – 16 mph average.
Challenge should push your ability and sits about 18mph average.
Race Pace is faster and is around 20mph+.

Please pick your group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained **

We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday
