(40 miles in total)

ITS HILL CLIMB TIME - GGCC's last club confined event of 2014 so we are finishing it off in style with the Crow Road Hill Climb.

We will head out of town north past the Asda at Robroyston, towards the prison and then via Torrance and then left onto  the foot of The Crow Road where sign on will be. Once complete we hill head to The Kirkhouse Inn for coffee, refreshments, hill climb chat and PRIZE GIVING!!

There are several categories of prizes so its all to play for!!

From there we will head back into town via Milngavie, Torrance and past the prison to the Green.

Once at sign on please register and get yourself ready as quick as possible.

FIRST off will be 10am and there will be marshalls to keep you right and make sure you don't miss your start time. Once complete please ensure you hand your race number back to registration.

Please meet under the Arch on the green for an 8:30am sharp start.

Please remember to bring your £3 that will cover your event entry fee as well as coffee at The Kirkhouse. Your £3 fee will be taken at sign on.

Please remember your British Cycling member card if you have one as it will be taken at registration.

As normal for our ride out and ride back, the group leaders will be identified prior to setting off in order that each group runs as smoothly as possible.

We will go through some basic safety, group riding etiquette and group riding technique, first aid and basic bike maintenance before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what’s happening on the ride.

For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend)

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.

http://connect.garmin.com/course/8215164

Forecast is to be heavy showers, around 10 degrees, with 20mph south westerly gusting to 40mph! Perfect hill climb weather ;-)

We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE and CHEEKY CHALLENGE - for the return leg only NOT on way out to the Crow Road

Everyone will take the same route so if you choose the wrong group or get dropped from the Cheeky Challenge or Challenge groups, there will always be a group coming up that you can join.

An idea of the pace each group should ride @ are -

Steady IS steady at about 14 -16mph
Challenge should stretch you at around 16mph - 18mph
Cheeky Challenge is around 18mph - 20mph

Pick you group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**
