GGCC Club Ride Details - Wednesday 30th September 2015 - 'East Kilbride Roundabout Rodeo' - 25 Miles.

LAST OFFICIAL WEDNESDAY CLUB RIDE UNTIL SPRING
The Winter Splinters will look after things from next week.

This week be the last of the 'Official GGCC Wednesday Club Rides' before it reverts to 'The Winter Splinter' in October. Last year the Wednesday rides continued and this year we will do the same. The Wednesday rides continue to happen but they are not official rides and are arranged and ran by the Winter Splinter group and they ran very successfully. (same route and meeting point and arrangements) This gives people the opportunity to get involved in a range of activities and training that suits them over the dark winter nights whether that be spin, CX, track, gym......whatever is your 2 wheeled choice. GGCC kick off official Wednesday rides again early in the year.

Greenlees Road as the warm up and then onto East Kilbride. We will the work on some group rotation and chain-gang up and down The Queensway before heading back via Castlemilk.

**PLEASE TAKE EXTRA CARE WHEN GOING OVER FLYOVER TOWARDS END OF THE QUEENSWAY AFTER THE MCDONALDS AS THERE ARE SIGNIFICANT POTHOLES IN THE LEFT HAND LANE ON THE APPROACH TO THE ROUNDABOUT.

We ask that all our riders use front and rear lights during our darker evening rides. In addition to this, we also ask riders to fit mud guards to their bikes in poor weather conditions. (Not a GGCC rule but a GGCC recommendation)

After the climb into East Kilbride, everyone will pull into the car park of the Carphone Warehouse/Brewers Fayre. This will allow all the paced groups to be agreed and the group leaders to have a quick 30sec run through of the format of the ride. This will also help as it takes us off the main roads whilst we sort this part of the ride.

The idea is for cheeky challenge to turn left at the Technology Park and head up to the roundabout just past Calderglen Country Park. The other groups will turn right as per usual.

Meet at 6.45pm for a 7pm sharp start at the McDonalds at the end of London Road near the junction of the M74.

We will go through some basic safety tips and group riding etiquette before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what happens on the ride.

If you have been given a first aid pack or have your own, can you bring this with you on club runs?

Weather is to be around 12 degrees, cloudy but dry, and only a 10% chance of rain, with a 4 mph NW wind gusting to 9mph

Steady is steady and usually sit between 14 – 16 mph average.
Challenge should push your ability and sits about 16 - 18 mph average.
Cheeky Challenge is slightly faster and is around 18 - 20 mph average

Please pick your group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained **
