GGCC UPDATE - club activity / 7th October 2020
All, as you are aware there have been new / amended / changing guidelines and restrictions announced today by the Scottish Government.
As a club we will always act with the safety of you the members, your immediate family and your extended friends and contacts in mind, so we will continue with our suspension of all official group activity for a further 2 weeks minimum.
The official guideline from SC may be that group cycling is 'ok',...but we as a club don't think it is and at the minute it just doesn't seem to fit with the bigger picture and what we as a community are trying to achieve, and its just too much of a risk.
We appreciate that these are unprecedented times and frustrating for all so I hope you understand why we are making these tough decisions. Doing what's best is the priority for all. As always we will update you fully with any developments and any changes and rest assured we will be back as a club as soon as its safe to do so as I've said before. Having large groups of cyclists out on the roads just isn't what's needed or indeed expected I feel at the moment and for that I apologise but we just cannot and will not be 'that club' that puts anyone at all (ever) at any potential and unnecessary risk.
