GGCC were invited to take part in BBC 5 Live's drive show on the evening of the 8th November.
The request came from BBC's James Shaw as they were looking for input from cyclists as to the dangers of cycling on Britain's road. This was following the incidents involving both Bradley Wiggins and Shane Sutton of Team Sky Pro Cycling.
The programme guests were Dave Brailsford (Team Principal of Sky Pro Cycling), Rachel Morris (Bronze Medallist at the 2012 Paralymics) and 4 members of GGCC.
We were asked our views on the dangers as well as the precautions needed when riding on Britain's road.

This was a good opportunity for our club to put across the benefits of riding in a group such as an organised cycle ride or by being part of an affiliated cycle club such as Glasgow Green Cycle Club.
On the back of recent events with Bradley Wiggins and Shane Sutton, the increased awareness for cyclists on the road has been a positive step. Chris Boardman (Olympic Champion) was then quoted to say that riding in a group and particularly riding two a breast can be a safer way to cycle as this helps you become more visible to other road users and pedestrians.
Two of the principles of which GGCC operate are to be SAFE and to have FUN. We hope that stories and exposure like this helps us to maintain these principals and continue to operate a safe and enjoyable bike club.
