09 Feb 2013

GGCC Club Ride - Sunday 10th February  - West to Dumbarton – 30 miles

This Sunday we will head west towards Dumbarton to have a coffee stop at the McDonald’s.

Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for a 8:30am sharp start.

We will go through some basic safety tips, group riding rules and etiquette and first aid before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows what to expect on the ride.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.

Weather is forecast to be wet with a chance or rain/snow and around 2 degrees.

There is a chance of snow on Sunday so please check the news section of the club website and our twitter feed.  We may cancel the ride as safety of our members is our priority.

We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE and possibly RACE PACE. We will split the groups depending on the number of members on the ride and demand.

Everyone will take the same route so if you choose the wrong group or get dropped from Challenge, there will always be a group coming up that you can join.

An idea of the pace each group should ride @ are -
Steady IS steady at about 14
Challenge should stretch you at around 16mph - 18mph
Race Pace will be high 20mph+ consistently

Pick you group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.

It is everyones responsibility to check their own bikes prior to the run and make sure they are all in good working order.

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and that your bike is oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**

See you all on Sunday.
