GGCC Club Run - Wednesday 21st August – Strathaven Route with Sydes Brae Climb.

We will head through Blantyre, Up Sydes Brae then onto Strathaven before heading back to East Kilbride due to the roads being lit in East Kilbride to help with visibility at the end of the run.

*PLEASE BRING LIGHTS WITH YOU AS YOU WILL BE RIDING IN THE DARK DURING THE SECOND PART OF THE RUN.

Meet at 6.45pm for a 7pm sharp start at the McDonalds at the end of London Road near the junction of the M74.

We will go through some basic safety tips and group riding etiquette before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what happens on the ride.

Can we have a show of hands from the nominated ride leaders for looking after groups tomorrow please?

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO WEDNESDAYS RIDE.
There is a slight change to the end of the run to avoid the Greenlees Road decent.

Weather is to be 17 degrees with chances of rain. There will be a westerly wind of around 10 mph

We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE and RACE PACE at defined and agreed points along the route.

Steady is steady and usually sit between 14 – 16 mph average.
Challenge should push your ability and sits about 18mph average.
Race Pace is faster and is around 20mph+.

Please pick your group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained **

See you all tomorrow.
