Sunday Club Run 15th December 2013

13 Dec 2013

GGCC Club Ride details for Sunday 15th December- North Glasgow route– Stepps, Kilsyth, Strathblane – 44 miles

This Sunday we plan to head north through Stepps, Kilsyth, and then along the foot of the Campsies.

We will have a coffee stop at the Kirkhouse Inn @ Strahblane. We can then all head back into town through Milngavie and Torrance.

Please meet under the McLennan Arch on the green for an 8:30am sharp start. We will collect £2 for the coffees etc before setting off and will call the order in to enable the staff at the Kirkhouse Inn to have it ready for us arriving.

The group leaders will be identified prior to setting off in order that each paced group runs as smoothly as possible.

We will go through some basic safety, group riding etiquette and group riding technique, first aid and basic bike maintenance before we set off so that everyone stays safe and knows exactly what’s happening on the ride.

For those of you who are first aid trained and have been issued first aid pack, can you please bring these along on Sunday (and each run you attend)

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ROUTE PRIOR TO SUNDAYS RIDE.

http://connect.garmin.com/course/3526229

Weather is to be around 4 degrees with chances of rain, with 20 mph southerly winds. The route has been planned to have a tailwind on the start of the route.

We will split into STEADY, CHALLENGE and CHEEKY CHALLENGE if the numbers and weather allow it.

Everyone will take the same route so if you choose the wrong group or get dropped from the Race or Challenge groups, there will always be a group coming up that you can join.

An idea of the pace each group should ride @ are -

Steady IS steady at about 14 -16mph

Challenge should stretch you at around 16-18mph

Race Pace is 18-20mph

Pick you group carefully and remember that steady is the only group that holds back and does not drop anyone.

**Please remember tubes, pump, levers, multitool and also please ensure your bike is in good working order, oiled, lubed, maintained and clean**

See you all Sunday.

From all the team @ GGCC
